How our nanny screening helps protect your
family
Our screening begins the moment the nanny makes
her application. The application itself is six pages long and is
designed for us to get to know her and her employment
history. After she has completed her interview(s), her background
investigation then begins. We reject approximately 50% of the
nannies that submit an application.
A critical part of our screening process is
reference checking. We ask questions on our application that must
match what the employer tells us. About 20% of nannies give us
phony references and they are immediately rejected. The reference
checking gives us important information on how the nanny related
to the children. We provide this information to you.
At the time of placement we provide you with a DMV
printout and criminal background reports for each county the nanny
has lived in for the last seven years. The nanny needs to be CPR
certified and will be sent at our expense if she/he is not. We
register each nanny with TrustLine when she is placed. Done by the
California Department of Children's Services, TrustLine uses
fingerprints to conduct a criminal background search, including a
search of the child abuse registry throughout California. The FBI
does a national criminal records search.
